Starting the year with 'Kesari', Akshay garnered praises from all over for the epic war-drama. But his second film this year, Independence Day release 'Mission Mangal' shattered records at the box office. The film gifted Akshay his highest-grossing movie ever and is also among the top films of the year.
The actor sealed this year's prime holiday release by blocking the Diwali with the fourth installment of his popular comedy franchise. 'Housefull 4' started off to an impressive start but took off to a blast post-Diwali weekend. The film entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in just five days of its release and is collecting exceptionally at mass centers.
All three films of Akshay Kumar this year have entered the Rs 100 crore club. 'Housefull 4' is his fifth film in succession to cross the ambitious milestone at the box office. His previous two films of last year - '2.0' and 'Gold' too crossed the milestone. In total, Akshay has 13 films to his name that has entered the Rs 100 crore club. This is the second-highest tally for any Bollywood actor after Salman Khan, who leads the list with 14 films in the Rs 100 crore club.

Now that the year is coming to an end, Akshay has still one more release to go before he finally wraps up 2019. Akshay and Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Good Newwz' will hit the screens on December 27.
The versatile star has already blocked all the prominent release dates of 2020 with his films. With nearly half a dozen films in his kitty, Akki looks adamant to rule the box-office next year as he comes out with multiple releases on all widely celebrated festive holidays like Diwali, Christmas, and Eid.

Akshay will start the year with Rohit Shetty's cop-drama 'Sooryavanshi' which will hit the screens in March next year. This will be followed by 'Laxmmi Bomb' on Eid, locking horns with Salman Khan's 'Radhe'. The actor has also sealed the Diwali release next year with his historical drama 'Prithviraj Chauhan', giving Shah Rukh Khan a run for his money on the prime holiday spot. The actor will then finally face off with Aamir Khan on Christmas with his film 'Bachchan Pandey.'
